Young Labour National Committee
Young Labour National Committee is the body that brings together all youth sections of the labour movement. Regional representatives ensure that everybody throughout the country is listened to and activities are co-ordinated for all.
Meet the committee
Stephanie PeacockNEC Youth Representative
Stephanie was elected NEC Youth Rep in 2007 to represent the views of young members at the highest level of the Labour Party. She has been an active member of her local Labour Party, including as Chair of her local branch and Chair of West Midlands Young Labour. She was also NPF Youth Rep for the West Midlands and Women's officer of Young Labour and remains an active member of her trade union.
Born in the West Midlands, Stephanie joined the Labour Party because she saw first hand the effects of a Tory government. She comments: "My Mum has worked in the NHS for over twenty years and I saw both the damage the under-investment of Tory years did and the improvements the Labour government began to make after 1997. The real difference that the Labour government made to ordinary people's lives inspired me to join the Party."
Richard AngellChair
Richard Angell is keen to hear from Young Labour members and will support Stephanie Peacock, NEC Youth Rep, on the reform of Young Labour, continue the role of Young Labour being active in year round campaigning for Labour and to work with the party on youth policy issues.
Richard is also Secretary of LGBT Labour, member of the Unite the Union (Amicus) Young Members National Committee and Secretary of his local Labour Party Branch, Brixton and Streatham Hill (BASH).
Richard was recently a member of the National Union of Students (NUS) National Executive Committee (NEC). He was elected to the NUS ‘Block of 12’ at the National Conference 2006 as a member of Labour Students. During 2005-06 Richard was President of the University of Birmingham Guild of Students.
