Quality jobs in a small, clever country

A strong economy is the foundation for Wales’ future success. In our third term, we will equip Wales for the future challenges of the global economy by investing in skills, helping even more people to return to work and giving our young people the tools for success.

Building on our record of creating more and better jobs, Labour will:

Provide new courses that relate directly to employment for young people aged over 14

Ensure that young people aged between 16 and 19 are supported to stay in education or work place learning

Organise specialist Skills Academies which allow people in employment to upgrade their skills

Provide help for lone parents to stay in work Develop new National Business Research Centres in Welsh Universities

Introduce a £200m Single Flexible Investment Fund for business

Ensure that the opportunity to study for the Welsh Baccalaureate exists in all parts of Wales
