Blocking of ship highlights urgent need for arms embargo - Alexander

Douglas Alexander MP, Labour's Shadow Foreign Secretary, commenting on the stopping of a ship allegedly carrying refurbished Russian-made attack helicopters to Syria, said:

"While I welcome the blocking of this ship allegedly carrying helicopters bound for Syria, this incident merely highlights the urgency of agreeing and enforcing a global arms embargo on Syria as a vital step in ending the appalling violence."
