Tribute to the courage, bravery, dedication and commitment of our Armed Forces - Ed Miliband

Ed Miliband MP, Leader of the Labour Party, speaking ahead of Armed Forces Day, said:

“On Armed Forces Day I want to pay tribute to the extraordinary work that our Armed Forces do. I have seen it for myself in Afghanistan - the courage, the bravery, the dedication and commitment of our Armed Forces.

“Most of all I want to thank all of the members of our Armed Forces for the extraordinary service they provide to our country. They are a shining example of what service to your nation is about.

“I also want to pay tribute to all of the families of our forces who often have their loved ones serving far away from home. They endure sacrifices on behalf of the rest of our country. So to them too, thank you for the service you provide in supporting the members of our Armed Forces.

“This is a day when the whole nation comes together to celebrate the work of our forces, to celebrate their courage, to celebrate their commitment; and on behalf of the Labour Party I join in that celebration, that respect for the work of our Armed Forces.”
