Tories must end opposition to later GP opening - Bradshaw
Ben Bradshaw MP, Labour's Health Minister, has called on the Tories to drop their opposition to extended GP opening hours and end their scaremongering campaign against Labour's new health centres:
"Today, Labour published plans to make it easier to register with a doctor and to improve patient care. It is another step on the path to a fairer, more personal, and more accessible National Health Service. We have already secured an agreement with GPs for longer evening and weekend opening and we are building 152 new GP-led health centres that will give excellent treatment 8am-8pm, seven days a week, every day of the year.
"Labour is offering the leadership the NHS deserves. Meanwhile, David Cameron's health policy is just shallow salesmanship. Millions of patients want better access to a GP, but David Cameron thinks 'Google can tell us more about our illness than our doctor'. Coming in the week that we celebrate 60 years of the NHS, Cameron's comment is an insult to the healthcare professionals who work so hard for our health service.
"The internet is great, but it's no substitute for a doctor you can see when you need to. David Cameron wants to reverse Labour's deal for evening and weekend opening, and opposes the new health centres that we're opening in addition to existing services. Even the Tory Shadow Housing Spokesman Grant Shapps has distanced himself from David Cameron's scaremongering GP campaign. When will David Cameron drop his pledge to cut Labour's extension of GP opening hours, and end the Tories' opposition to new health centres?"

As long as the "building (of) 152 new GP-led health centres" doesn't mean cuts to local GP surgeries, I will back this 100%.
