Tackling climate change

Tackling climate change
Climate change is the greatest long term threat facing the world today.  We all need to make changes to help our environment and avoid the terrible consequences of climate change.

Labour has displayed leadership on tackling climate change at home and abroad.  We have a track record of action, not just words.  And we are making progress towards a cleaner future. We introduced the Climate Change Levy which is having a major impact on energy efficiency in business, while the Renewables Obligation is providing a major incentive for  investment in renewable energy sources.

By encouraging less waste and more recycling, investing in renewable energy and setting a target to cut UK carbon emissions by 60% by 2050, Labour is leading the world in setting tough targets for cutting the emissions of the gases that cause climate change.

What you can do

As a country we can achieve so much more if as individuals we work together with Government to green our homes and work places.

As individuals, we can do a lot to tackle climate change, here are a number of ways you can act.
