Stewarding at Conference is a rewarding and fun experience. Our stewards play a very important role in the smooth running of Conference.
Stewards are based throughout the Conference zone to assist with questions and queries from visitors. They are often the first point of contact that visitors have with our Conference. They are also on hand in case people need assistance from our enablers.
Full training is provided before the event as well as a tour of the Conference zone and a briefing on the running of conference.
You will be paid for your time on an hourly rate commensurate with the London Living Wage.
You must be a member of the Labour Party to be eligible to attend conference as a steward. Please note you must complete a full application form regardless of whether you have already expressed an interest in stewarding this year.
Accommodation and travel expenses
Successful applicants who live in the vicinity of Brighton will be expected to commute and accommodation costs will not normally be covered. Daily travel costs will be reimbursed to you after Conference provided receipts are submitted. Hotel expenses will not normally be covered for applicants who live within the vicinity of Brighton.
Successful applicants who live outside of the Brighton area will be sent information regarding accommodation and travel expenses.
Please note: you should not book travel or accommodation until you have been informed that your application to be a Steward has been successful, regardless of whether you have stewarded in the past. The Labour Party will inform you if your application to be a Steward has been successful by Friday 28 June 2013 at the latest. If your application is successful, the Chief Steward will provide you with your rota and conference duties.
