Standing up for you

Harriet HarmanAcross the country hundreds of thousands of people are standing up for their communities by voting Labour.

They’re voting for community policing. They’re voting for better hospitals, better schools, better services and lower taxes. They’re voting for better public transport, a cleaner, healthier environment and a strong and stable economy.

Most of all they’re standing up for their families and their communities.

I need you to join them. I need you to go and vote Labour.

In these local council elections, we must act together. We must make sure that our Labour councillors across the country can keep doing what they do best – serving their communities. And in London we must make sure that Ken stays on as our Mayor.

Your vote today will determine how your local services are run. If you are able to go out and talk to your friends, your neighbours and your colleagues you could bring extra votes to Labour and so have an even bigger impact on your local community.

Please do vote for Labour today.

Thank you and best wishes

Harriet Harman MP

Gordon has promised to listen and lead. We now have on average a murder a day. and the majority of decent folk confined to their homes by gangs of marauding ,drunken youth. We have a police force conspicuous by their absense. We have High streets that should be called Gin Lane. We Tax the poor to give to the rich. We spend 350,000 000 on Immigrant prenancies and send our pensioners to jail when they cant pay their council tax. We have the most toxic hospitals in Europe, and you still cant get an NHS dentist. What has Gordon done? He's scrapped the Bin tax.

Vote for Labour? I don't think so! And - judging by results - it looks as though many voters shared that view. Labour have had 11 years to listen to voters. Due to their aggogance, they haven't bothered. May 1st 2008 has been Payback Time (and very well deserved).

It's time that Gordon and the government started listening to people. We ,the footsoldiers are the ones who have had to put up with and try to defend what the government is doing and to be honest as far as the tax changes are concerned I couldn't as I am affected by the cahnges aswell. In my ward we have lost an excellent councillor ,someone who is and always will be a socialist and it's time those at the top got back to what weare supposed to represent SOCIALISM!

On second thoughts I wonder if Harriet actually wrote this dirge. It was probably written by PR staff highly trained (and salaried) to churn column inches at high speeds. Hope it gets pulled soonest.

Harriet "I need you to join them. I need you to go and vote Labour" What a disgusting conceit. If there was any ever doubt about your myopic parochialism, you have revealed yourself. Get over yourself - I don't need you, and your self-righteous condescension. You have to EARN my vote, and you haven't. Think again.

I could not say it any better than Robert. It's tragic what Labour has squandered in terms of good will, trust and money for old rope.

Your doing it again spinning without substance, Labour has now made us the most taxed in the dam EU, we have tax fines and anything which makes government and councils money, and then you can cut funding to pay for a war. Labour spent so much time running after the Tories and pinching idea's from each other and playing silly games you took your eyes what counts in this country, a Labour party which looks after the people. You failed to protect the NHS from large America greed and now we our NHS almost within reach of the private sector. You have hit the real Labour heart lands of protection of workers right, of the protection of the sick and the disabled by again selling us to the American large companies like Unum Provident. If you do not listen now to what people are saying you might become the third party within the UK,

Old Age pensioners forgotten again.Yes fuel allowance O/k but road tax NOT O/K Alot of people like me bought a caravan and big enough & car to tow it. Cannot afford smaller caravan cannot afford to change car. Have to stay in doors with fuel allowance? Polluting the air is so tiny compared to CHINA making goods for Marks & Spencer and useing enviomentally friendly bags is a laugh a minute. All the traffic hold ups we have and all those vehicles polluting the the air just ticking over whether it is large or small vehicles. The extra tax will not make the slittest difference except to enlarge the pot for MPs to spend on expences. Thank-you
