CLPs, Trade Unions and Affiliated organisations are invited to send delegates and visitors to the Special Conference 2014, which will be held at ExCeL London on Saturday, 1 March 2014.
The NEC announced this Special Conference to debate and decide on the reforms that Ed Miliband has called for to make Labour more deeply rooted in the lives of working people and their communities. The Collins Interim Report, launched in September and sent out to local parties and affiliates for consultation, sets out the principles of reform to be debated and decided next March, including:
• Develop a new relationship between the Labour Party and individual members of our affiliate organisations.
• Standardise constituency development plans.
• Use primaries to engage a wider public in Labour’s selection of candidates including that for London Mayor.
• Ensure fairness and transparency in Labour’s selections.
The consultation period closed on 24 December 2013. Delegates will be sent the final report in advance of the March conference.
