Grant Shapps stands accused of hypocrisy - Dugher

Michael Dugher MP, Labour’s Vice-Chair, responding to Grant Shapps' comments on council allowances, said:

“I know the Tories have had a diabolical week, but this is pretty desperate stuff from Grant Shapps. He needs to get his facts right. These recommendations came from a cross-party committee of MPs with more Tory and Lib Dem members than Labour.

“Grant Shapps stands accused of hypocrisy unless Conservative members of that committee disown their own report.

“Just this week Tory councillors on Walsall council voted to increase their allowances. Will Grant Shapps now call on Conservative councillors to give back their allowances?”
