Stephen TwiggStephen Twigg MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, commenting on news that the Mayor of London wants a larger role in overseeing schools, said:
 
“London schools improved faster than the rest of the country with a Labour Government. We want to build on that success and Labour’s education team have launched our own review on school accountability and devolving power. But we want schools to be accountable not just to politicians, but to local parents and communities.”
