Concern at Minister's admission on MoD police numbers at nuclear sites - Murphy

Jim Murphy MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, following the admission from Defence Minister Andrew Robathan that the MoD is no longer protecting MoD Police numbers at Faslane and Coulport, said:
"The Prime Minister's assurances have proved worryingly empty.
"At the UK’s most sensitive nuclear sites the Government are cutting MoD Police. People up and down the country will be deeply concerned.
"Unless Ministers can tell us that the threat level has changed this looks like complacency if not carelessness.
"Rather than these damaging behind the scenes decisions we must have urgent public assurances that national security is not being jeopardised."
