Role: HR Officer
Salary: £32,286.48 per annum, plus an annual fixed sum allowance of £950
Fixed-term contract until one month after the next General Election

The Labour Party is looking to recruit an HR Officer to join the Human Resources team. Reporting into the HR Manager, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive generalist HR support to the organisation on a range of Human Resources issues.

To succeed in this role, the post-holder will need excellent administration and advisory skills and the ability to deal with numerous competing demands in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should be CIPD qualified, or working towards completing their CIPD qualification (or equivalent), with a good knowledge of employment law.

Role: Policy Communications Officer
Salary: £32,286.48 per annum, plus an annual fixed sum allowance of £950
Fixed-term contract until one month after the next General Election

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Policy Communications Officer. The successful candidate will work to ensure that Labour’s policies and messages are communicated effectively and efficiently with the public and Party stakeholders, and promote and support engagement with internal and external stakeholders on policy development.

Key tasks will include: managing responses to policy queries, producing written content for online and print policy communications, supporting the development of Labour’s online policy hub Your Britain, and assisting with the coordination of Labour’s democratic policy development process and structures.

The successful candidate will have experience of producing policy or political communications for a range of audiences and mediums and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, and will have strong communication and organisational skills.

Political Advisor to the Shadow Minister for Care & Older People
Based: Westminster
Salary: dependent on experience
Fixed term contract for the period that Liz Kendall is the Shadow Minister for Care and Older People, or until one month after the next General Election, whichever is sooner.

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Political Advisor to support the work of the Shadow Minister for Care & Older People, Liz Kendall MP. With a background and expertise in politics and parliamentary affairs, you will work as part of the Public Services Policy team to support the Shadow Minister in shadowing the Government and providing policy and media advice

Work will include: preparing parliamentary questions, working on health questions, and legislation; communicating the alternative policies of the official Opposition; and building relationships and liaising with third parties.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of research and policy knowledge; possess excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare written and oral briefings for senior stakeholders; have substantive experience working within a political environment; and possess exceptional organisational, coordination and decision making skills.

Role: Borough Organiser, Hackney Labour Party
Salary: £17,081.40 (part time, 3 days per week)
Fixed-term contract until 22nd June 2014

Working with the Hackney Local Campaign Forum in collaboration with the Labour Group, the successful candidate will organise and co-ordinate campaigning activity within the Borough of Hackney, and fundraise for the 2014 local Mayoral and council elections.

You will have broad knowledge and experience of campaigning and campaigning techniques and an understanding of the legal requirements of running a campaign. You will also need to show an understanding of the Labour Party’s organisation.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The successful candidate will need to be able to use software relevant to campaigning and be proficient in producing campaign materials.

The post is a fixed term appointment up until 22nd June 2014. The post will be based in Hackney and will require some out of hours work including weekends.
