Role: Press Officer

Salary: £35,927.32 per annum, plus an annual fixed sum allowance of £2,249

Location: London, Brewer’s Green

Duration: Fixed-term contract until one month after the next General Election

 

Reporting into the Head of Press, the post-holder will be responsible for the presentation and communication of the policies of the Opposition within the national media.   

 

The successful candidate will have experience as a Press Officer or Journalist, understand how to devise and implement a media strategy, possess excellent political judgement and communication skills, and have a thorough knowledge of the media both nationally and regionally.

Role: Business Development Officer 

Based: London or Newcastle Head Office 

Salary: £29,849.96 (plus London Weighting in the event this role is based in London), with an annual fixed sum allowance of £971

Duration: Fixed term contract until 30th October 2015

 

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Business Development Officer to join the Events & Endorsements team. The post holder will be responsible for promoting, marketing and selling commercial opportunities at the Labour Party Annual Conference by promoting exhibitions stands, adverts, branding, sponsorship and sales for the business Forum and Conference Dinner as well as working on other income generating events with a clear focus of bringing in new business.

 

The post holder will have experience in a similar role in event organising and the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team.

The Labour Party is seeking to recruit a Front-End Developer to work in our Digital team.
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the Labour Party's website until the election, throughout periods of high traffic spikes, as well as building all online assets for the team including apps, email landing pages and implementing analytics programmes. You will have a passion for coding, excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Role: Direct Marketing Fundraising Officer
Location: Newcastle Head Office

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Direct Marketing Fundraising Officer to join the Membership Team in Newcastle as we increase our fundraising efforts ahead of the 2015 General Election. This new post will have responsibility for planning, writing, executing and reviewing a range of direct marketing projects to try and raise funds from members, and to retain current members. This role will primarily focus on direct mail and raffles - but as we increase our activity in the run-up to the General Election it will also include telephone fundraising and new acquisition projects.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of direct marketing principles and be an excellent written communicator, with the ability to write creative fundraising proposals that will inspire our members to donate. Having written fundraising letters before is an advantage, but is not essential if you can demonstrate you have the written skills to write persuasive and compelling copy. You will have successfully carried out direct mail programmes in a non-profit, political or membership organisation and you will be able to build effective relationships across the organisation whilst working to tight deadlines. You will have experience reporting and analysing direct marketing projects and be able to deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.

This role will work across our online and offline teams and will gather and write content for acquisition and retention projects - and then report back and advise on future campaigns.
This role will involve regular (estimated fortnightly) travel to our Newcastle Head Office.
