Information

Website:
Company Overview:
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Labour passing the National Minimum Wage Act. It remains one of the government’s proudest achievements having benefited millions of people.
Mission:
When David Cameron campaigned against the National Minimum Wage, wages of as little as £1.20 an hour were common and legal.

That’s just £1.38 an hour in today’s prices.

So when he tries to tell you that he cares about families and people struggling to make ends meet, just imagine what it would be like to live on £1.38 an hour today.
Products:
Sign up for fairness at work
When you leave a tip at a restaurant or bar most people do this believing it is going to the staff as an extra bonus. But at the moment this can make up part of a worker's hourly wage. Labour believes that tips should be additional to the minimum wage and shouldn’t count towards it – sign up and show your support.

Rambling Syd Rumpo, your statement is so scary and would frighten millions of people in this country, however is very true.

The National Minimum Wage has to be one of the finest achievements of this Labour government. It is shocking to think that up until 10 years ago, people could be paid as little as £1.38 an hour. It's policies like these that make me proud to be a Labour member.

I think Benny you missed the point. The Tories would never have introduced the minimum wage at all. How on you can you imply that is not in tune with supporting the people. I suppose next your say the Winter Fuel Allowance and Free bus travel for over 60's is just some attempt to look socialist. Labour is a modern party it has to change with peoples expectations. It can't stay stuck to the past like glue. I feel your in for a nasty shock if the Tories got back in, because they are itching to destroy every socialist principle there is. Perhaps then you will realise just how big the difference between Labour and the Tories really is.

lawrence -
"labour changing slightly more to the right made people thinking " well guess that means they aren't communists"."
lets not forget that this government has been second only to maggie thatcher in the sheer volume of reactionary and distinctly un-socialist policies passed. with privatisation, war, and climate change looming this "shift to the right" might appear less like pragmatism and more like a betrayal to many people. its no use pretending -- labour is nothing like it used to be.

Thanks Lawrence - as you can see, it is a thorny one that is a real loophole to the law and which employers are diving through every chance they get!

A petition sounds like a wonderful idea!
