She was elected to Parliament in the General Election on May 6th 2010. Pat Glass was born and bred in County Durham and lives in Lanchester in North West Durham constituency. Mother to two grown-up sons, she has spent most of her working life standing up for the most vulnerable children in society. A former Assistant Director of Education in Sunderland and Greenwich, she became a Government Adviser on Special Educational Needs; advising local authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region. She also served as a Councillor on Lanchester Parish Council.
