Karl was born in East Hull in 1971.  He was educated at Bransholme High School and Hull University where he gained a Law degree.  Karl qualified as a barrister and works from the local chambers in Hull.  He has spent the vast majority of his life living in the constituency and says: - "Being East Hull born and bred, I feel very proud of having the chance to represent the people of my home town in Parliament".
