I am proud to have been selected as the Labour candidate to represent Knowsley at the next general election.

Before this election was called, I represented Knowsley North and Sefton East and, prior to that, Knowsley North for 23 years.

I have lived almost all my life in the area, was educated in Huyton and at Kirkby College and am committed to working with Knowsley Council, our government and our community. Over the last thirteen years we have made significant progress to overcome the many years of disadvantage we suffered under the Tories.

The issues I have taken up in Parliament are those that concern local people:

• Immigration
• Crime and justice
• Older people
• Climate change
