"Regime change was made so much easier in Burma. In the 1950s the government gave the military to right to create/generate their own incomes. This money gets to the generals in a variety of ways, but
none of it goes through the government and therefore wouldn't have gone to the public. So the old argument that using sanctions will harm the people of Burma doesn't hold up. The companies on the
Dirty List http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk/dirty_list/dirty_list_details.html all support the Burmese Generals financially. Sanctions against these companies would topple the Burmese Generals. The
British Government and EU must be far tougher with companies that trade with the Burmese Generals http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk/ Simply put, by taking effective action, such as sanctions, against
the companies on the Dirty List the government and EU can hurt the Burmese Generals and not the people of Burma.
