Emily Thornberry, Labour’s MP for Islington South & Finsbury, has said London’s international reputation must not be undermined when Londoners vote in the mayoral elections on 1 May.
She praised Labour Mayor Ken Livingstone for his leadership over his two terms and said his record spoke for itself.
“London is a world city, an international city. A city which is completely unique and something we should be proud of,” Emily said.
“We should let no one undermine it … it needs a world class leader. We need Ken.”
The Labour MP spoke at an event attended by the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown, who met with Islington residents at a tea & coffee morning in a community centre.
