Labour is committed to Sure Start
I met up with Jayne Innes, Labour's PPC for Nuneaton, today at Camp Hill Sure Start Children Centre.
Labour has opened over 3,500 Sure Start Childrens Centres since 1997 - providing a helping hand to parents, children and families to give them the best start in life. The mums and dads Jayne and I spoke to told us about how important this has been to them.
Despite this, the Tories plans would put Sure Start at risk. The Tories have said they want Sure Start's focus to be on only a few of the very poorest, and they won't protect the budget from their cuts. That's just another example of how, despite the posters, the Tories haven't changed.
Labour is committed to Sure Start. We created it and we will protect it.
