When we are well known throughout europe for providing 'free' healthcare, surely reducing the existing strain on the NHS of health tourists should be a higher priority, rather than 'renewing' an already overstretched system? When patients who have funded the NHS all their lives are refused cancer drugs that can prolong or save their lives because the NHS cannot afford to pay the high costs from the pharmaceutical companies, something is very wrong. After the recent weeks of incompetence from Mr Browns government, and his own shocking track record on pensions and selling off our gold reserves for a knock down price, I for one do not think that they can deliver on these promises. After all, we are still waiting for the EU referendum that we were promised way back in 2005!

I totally agree with the comments that Richard has made, how can we believe anything that comes out of the mouth of a government who promises and then consistently fails to deliver?

I congratulate the Prime Minister for taking the time to consider 'life disease', food labelling, food producers, caterers and other related circumstances that can help to cause ill health being obesity, cancer, mental illness and heart disease, and I do hope that the Prime Minister will be taking into account the production of our food being REAL organic food when considering these issues. However, the Prime Minister did not clarify how he was improving healthcare services or replacing them.
