What people are saying...

This is a chance to change the economic structures, so that the poorest and disadvantaged people are given a fair chance. I value hardwork but I know the foundations need money to alleviate poverty. Poverty is not just for third world countries!
Think about what would make your children proud of you. Then do it.
Put people first! Keep the focus on helping real people in this crisis. Don't just help the bankers who got us in this mess in the first place.
Nelson Mandela once said "Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great and you can be that generation" take this into the meetings with you and keep it at the back of your minds. You are the leaders of the free world, those who have the power to make a change and make the history books. This is your time to make your mark, depending on how you handle the financial crisis will affect the future of your career and I can’t personally think of a better team we could have to handle this crisis, Obama with the world in the palm of his hand. Brown with his political influence and knowledge of economics! This is your time to be that generation!
I ask for ethically orientated handling of the world's governing. No more decision making based on who is the strong and mighty, You have on your hands a planet full of unhappy people. Time for you to change this!
Things may be bad for the rich world, but imagine how much worse they are for the poor and those in fragile states.... Be bold. More debt relief. More non-government or multilateral aid. Less protectionism. NOW is the moment for real trade policy reforms, when it can save lives and livelihoods and prevent resource conflict meltdown.
Think about the next generation.
Fund integration projects, especially those that will enhance the mutual understanding of each other and oppose the clash of civilisations
Make sure the current problems don't stop progress towards the milliniuem development goals.
Demand justice for developing countries by making a real concerted effort to combat climate change NOW!. That means REALLY cutting emission, less hot air and more action and less influence from big business. JUST DO IT NOW!
If we are going to borrow money off our grandchildren, please spend it on things that will benefit them - green technology and infrastructure would be a good start!
Invest in energy independence; use our tides and waves. Export the technology we create.
At a time when sustainability and green economics are key issues; will the G20 commit to developing a new form of the Kyoto treaty? How will it deal with the carbon trading permits scheme which has failed in the EU? Are the US and the UK willing to allow India and China some leeway on its emissions? Is the west willing to take the initiative?
Things may be bad for the rich world, but imagine how much worse they are for the poor and those in fragile states.... Be bold. More debt relief. More non-government or multilateral aid. Less protectionism. NOW is the moment for real trade policy reforms, when it can save lives and livelihoods and prevent resource conflict meltdown.
Fund building projects.
Put People First! This is a time for fundamental change towards a better balanced, fairer and greener world economic system. Don't screw it up.
Please ensure that G20 development aid budgets don't become the hidden victims of recession. Development is not an optional add on for good times only!
Put People First!
Higher taxes for the higher earners. No privatisation of anything. Government is good!
Globalisation is good. Protectionism is bad. BUT RULE NO 1. ECONOMY AT HOME MUST BE SOUND. Don't compromise domestic economy for sake of being politically correct.
Why does the world economy operate on borrowing/lending and personal debt. It would be more stable if it followed the "live within your means" principle that my Granny swore by...
help people help themselves and each other. Keep govt out of the way as much as you can.
What role, if any, can faith groups play in aiding all aspects of recovery?
Have the bravery to do what needs to be done, however much it hurts. Alex Timperley, King's College London
Make sure the weak and vulnerable have more money to spend. Increase spending on public services, they civilise modern society, they are the sunlight in a dark sky. Build hope into a bridge that brings long lasting prosperity for all.
Use this opportunity to impress on people everywhere at all levels that its now all about "the Triple Bottom Line" we should generate and spend our wealth but on less things, better things, "Less is More" - Profit, People and Planet is everyones responsibility, "Economic leadership, social leadership and environmental leadership!"
Why not buy the poppy crop of Afghanistan to distribute worldwide, particularly to third world countries where morphine for medical purposes are in short supply? The Afghan poppy farmers would then be perceived as productive rather than criminals.
Please make the IMF and World Bank truly democratic institutions that are accountable to member states. It is only democracy that can deliver mutual interests and create a fairer and sustainable world economy.
The current great wealth inequality is not economically, socially or environmentally sustainable. Lead us to a better and kinder future.
Decide on a radical agenda to ensure worker's rights and job growth to create a society that's socially and economically sustainable - but remember at the same time to keep up the struggle to battle climate changes and make our society ecologically sustainable! Justice and equality is the way out of the crisis!
Keep trying to give people real help!
This crisis is much too good to waste -- so please don't. The economic crisis and the climate crisis together provide a golden opportunity to change structures, mindsets and lifestyles. This could be the best thing that ever happened to the human race!
How close do you fell the World is to creating a truly sustainable form of energy, and what effect would this have on the World's economies?
How will you ensure that the G20 will learn from the harsh economic climate at the moment? And how will they co-operate to be better prepared for the future growth of their economies?
Don't forget the millennium development goals. The rich are still rich.
Interest rates can be too low as well as too high. At 0% the section of the economy that lives off interest/capital is crippled. 5% base-rate is fair level for everybody. Interest rates need to go back up to 5% in harmony, across the globe.
Will you keep your promises on reducing global debt (esp. in Africa) and on the environment, and find ways to make these commitments the basis of the global economic recovery?
Always keep in mind the poorest people in society. As the worlds richest nations meet it is vital to have their voice heard.
Don't over treat the patient. You can't fix the problem just mitigate the symptoms and let the recovery happen. It's a tough balance to hit!
I'm glad that you're all coming together at a summit to try to get something done. When the whole world's in a hole, the whole world needs to help each other to get out of it.
I'm worried about losing my house - how are you going to help me?
Gordon Brown - Best luck to you and President Obama. I'm sure the Tories want this summit to fail and the crisis to continue, but the rest of us need you to continue to give people a helping hand and get us out of this recession
Brown and Obama - how are you going to make sure that we never have a banking crisis like this again?
You're both doing well. Don't get distracted.
Poverclimaconomy: It's all one crisis. Put people - not markets - first.
Stop making the prudent pay for the failures of the reckless and profligate.
Please discuss climate change (obviously). Please also encourage the US to join and support the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, i am shocked and appauled that this huge body of global power has not agreed to this fundamental treaty. Children are our future and this need to be remembered.
I think you should have a point where you listen to everyone and not always give your say in things and ask every single person and leave no one out because everyone else's opinion is more important than yours. Especially the younger ones as they will be the ones to deal with it later!
Don't forget climate change as an issue. Use the money we are investing to boost the economy on green projects.
Please don't forget that the ones most affected by this global recession are the worlds poorest.
The governments around the world should be giving cash incentives for people to trade their old cars in for new ones like the German govt. This would help support the industry.
It is not laissez fair or communist ideology which guarentees prosperity - It is energy. And we need more. Nuclear Power and other tradiational sources have low energy returned on energy invested ratio and falling, whilst renewables rise. safeguard our prosperity by targetting stimulus package on renewables. secure our energy supply please and if necessary, defy the market.
Talk less and listen more. Listen in order to gather lots of information so that you can make reasoned and well thought out decisions.
Don't think about the next election, think about the next generation
Listen to the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment and protect our natural environment!
How will the G20 get the world singing from the same hymn sheet?
Gordon Brown, with an American President thats seems to have truly left wing policies, is this the time for Britain and America to lead a world left turn and build a world economy on industry rather than house prices?
Please, please, can the countries of the worlld come together to deal with climate change. It should be our top priority. Countries should be prepared for hard decisions. Our children's survivial is at stake.
Congratulations Obama - you restored my faith in the US!
Take decisive action to get out of the financial crisis, even at the expense of your political popularity.
Ideas for solving this whole thing: 1) Give 14 year olds like me loads of money so we can go shopping and get the economy moving! 2) Only make us go to school for two days per week. You could halve spending on education! 3) This is serious now- STOP SPENDING ON NUKES. We don't need them and they cost much too much.
Tere needs to be a new political contract between the electorets of democracies and our governments. We have blamed governments, banks, and speculators, however we have not looked to ourselves as individuals who have refused to hear mature voices which state limitations and realities. This crisis should awaken us to the electorat's equal partnership in the discourse of nations and of our mutual responsibilites.
Remember green issues, despite the current economic turmoil, climate change is still the issue which our generation can either save the future from or condemn the future to.
Power to the powerless: massive investment in (sunfilled\) developing world with solar tech; sun to elctricty through PV solar sytems. Overnight empowerment to the hungry-powershort plus export opps for Britain. thom cross
Thank you! I'm very lucky to be British and despite the current problems we're having, I've had the privilege of living in a diverse and unique country, full of hope and opportunity. I think we forget too easily what good the Labour government has done. I wont.
Move heaven and earth to remove poverty from the planet and never again allow the banking system to ruin the world's economy.
With the economic crisis at the forefront of the media it would be easy to let that dominate your talks, but please remember we need a global solution for a global crisis and poverty and climate issues need addressing with equal importance.
Don't push the blame onto anyone else, just get down to the job of stabilising the financial crisis.
Invest In Renewable Energy Now!
The financial crisis has dominated the agenda the past year- at a loss of 0.5% Global GDP. Perhaps Global Warming needs a similar attention before it is too late.
First, and most importantly, I want to survive my natural life, and don't want the whole globe to be the third world - be radical in emissions cutting, please. It is vital. Second, I am from Jersey (though study in the UK) - please shut down states like mine as tax havens. The UK, for example, is losing heavily to its own crown dependencies, where outsiders are using the quite legitimate low tax rates to build economies run on tax avoidance - these are not constructive economies; they serve only those who run them. These economies are based on legally contrived, ethically contorted structures of trusts and companies. Together, the G20 must act ruthlessly and simultaneously to make the non-dom extinct.
Do it for the people, not the politics.
Remember that the priority is the people, not the banks. Only help the banks if they will help us.
Money is being pumped into the car industry to keep jobs. Why not spend this money retraining workers for other industries; reduce the number of polluting cars and build on our green energy production?
Please agree common priorities to safeguard the next generation from political short-termism , selfish capitalism, and mindless environmental destruction - the things which have served the few at the expense of the many for long enough.
Think about what you are going to do for the Middle Class. They have played by the rules that we created in the '90s and '00s, they have worked hard and saved hard, and they don't want to see it lost.
Education,Education, Education. Housing, Housing, Housing. Health, Health, Health. Labour you once created the welfare state for a reason. Think for the future.
Now is the time for creative alliances, for looking to hold hands with skills which complement; and to root the creation of our future in the reality of integrity.
The future is in your hands, please don't stop trying to get us out of this situation.
There is no time for protectionist measures, policies for single countries are not applicable, a worldwide solution is necessary. This is a gathering of the 20 most powerful economies and an oppotunity to forge a new era of economics, one of sustainable, durable growth for all involved. This policy must not be at the expense of others and we must realise that often to go forward, it is necessary to go back and it is obvious that the first route out of this mess is fiscal stimulus, correctly applied and in sufficient strength. Banks must be kept afloat by any means necessary and it is vital, in a time of crisis, to come out of this conference with, if nothing else, hope for the future, hope that could drive the worldwide population to start spending again.
Unless the G20 nations make Copenhagen a success with CO2 emissions starting to fall globally by 2015, there is no future for life on earth, so this must be G20's priority.
Help students through the financial crisis- after all, when we graduate its students who will contribute to the future economy
I understand what problems this world is facing this global recession. I hope that you can successfully work together for the benefit of the people. I am full of confidence that by working together, the problems facing this world will be minimized.
Backwardness will only entrench this crisis - just as Conservatism created it; what is really needed is a truly progressive global agenda.
Protect us who still have many years left in this world and who want to enjoy the beauty of it for years to come. Protect our future children who will have to face whatever decisions you chosen few have to make. Think long term, not quick fixes.
At the next fiscal stimulous, give the cash to the people to reduce personal debt, 90% will bank it giving them liquidety too
Invest in green technology for the future.
Don't let this opportunity pass to reform the way the world does business & the global financial institutions to benefit the world's poor
Work together for the common good. Show people that politics can make a positive difference to their lives.
World leaders should allow people from other countries to work and pay their taxes to the state,Secondly Govt should bring in a law to allow the banks to borrow money. i hope these summit would bring some positive meaning to the people. God help the leaders in bringing good policies out. God bless our would leaders.bye.
As well as or (better) instead of propping up banks and insurance groups that are of themselves incapable of contributing to any recovery, think how much good would be done if the govt provided m seed capital to tens or hundreds of thousands of startups. As an entrepreneur I know how much we can do with that scale of money (employ a dozen people for a year for a start) whereas it will just vanish in the noise with the banks. Thatcher's one great idea was the Enterprise Allowance scheme, but she blew it by scrapping it almost immediately.
Support human rights both at home and abroad. Put civil liberties above terrorism and religion. Remember IP law is meant to benefit the public also.
An economic system in which only perpetual growth keeps the thing flying *cannot* be sustainable in the long run. Globally, humanity needs to live within the limits which the earth imposes, and for people in the rich countries this means finding a way to live comfortably while consuming less. Spending our way out of recession, if it means consuming more resources, cannot be the correct answer. The real economy consists of people, energy and physical resources, and money is a chimera.
Act without hesitation, without wastefulness, without concern for the self. Many millions await the reconstruction of the global economy, and look to you in this time.
Less targets...more action!
Tax havens....WHO needs them?
Trying to 'fix' the current system to something a bit better than what it was before will not work in the long term. Please implement policies that have a broader scope and that are enforced globally. Example, all manufacturers have to meet energy/recycling requirements to sell their products - a level playing field for everybody.
I am an undergraduate looking for a summer internship. With events in recent months, this is getting harder and harder not just for students but for the general public however the young people of today are going to be tomorrows thinkers! surely opportunities and experiences can be opened by companies. Think for tomorrow, not just today!
The time is now. It may not come again for a generation. You can make the difference. We are waiting. Freedom and a better world is close. We are listening. Please take action.
If we are to compare this meeting to the one after the 2ndWW, the focus must be on things that will be relevant in 30yrs time, green technologies, improved transport infrastructure, perhaps replacing the aging and wasteful water system constructed by the victorians.
Please control the initiativistis. This is too important.
Build affordable homes for rent - lots of them. For the homeless, for those on waiting lists and for those irresponsibly sold sub prime mortgages. And for the building industry - it needs it
The time has come for the world to stop fighting and start working together. Those that want to fight it alone will loose it alone. The only way to fix the problems we have together created - is to work together. We need to be the change, not the next governments of our countries.
Value and respect the public sector workers who will be at the heart of bringing the world out of this current economic phase - don't try to 'manage' us with good news hiding the bad, we respond to trust and openness. Be honest with us, and we will come through for you.
Make trade fair and help to make poverty history. Keep the commitments you made to the Millennium Development Goals.
Would the G20 members care to make a statement, from a moral viewpoint, about the nature of greed and the dangers it continues to pose to a modern society.
The current global economic model has served its purpose, time to move on, time to be radical, time to use technology to solve the worlds inequalities not to feed our desires. Jericoa
More regulation of banks! Never let this happen again. No more greed for the sake of greed.
Reach out to our partners in Europe and throughout the world. The kind of change we need cannot be made by just you two.
Build genuine wealth, reward enterprise and hard work, regulate against greed and irresponsibility and don't forget the deserving poor.
rethink everything, fight for the marginal and trust those instincts which took you into politics rather than the logic of power
All nations should stand together in stamping out the GREED that is choking the life out of our financial sector,
Don't turn a private debt crisis into a public debt disaster. Focus on helping people to keep their homes and in employment.
Unemployment must have an effect on this because all the nations which are affected by crisis have high unemployment rates. So surly we need to solve unemployment and the enconomy together like Pericles , Caesar and Hitler did even if it increaes our debt because the public are the key to making the banks lending together and without our (public) imput then the banks will not lend and put up the barriers to try to keep the bank stable.
Think about the contrast between the poverty of the many and the self serving greed of the financial elite and act to address that issue
The G20 is a chance for world leaders to unite in discussion, put aside their differences and make real progress on trying to solve the problems across the globe together. To see a new deal in modern times, we need to scrap the days of excessive bonuses, encourage tighter regulation and avoid building the walls of protectionism which could be our downfall. As always, developing countries have been hit hard, and the G20 summit needs to recognise the imminent threat that broken economies can bring to the world stage. G20 also needs to realise that any stimulus needs to safeguard the future generation from an uncontrollable debt. The people have entrusted you with their vote, and taxes, and we entrust you to lead us back from the brink into an era of financial responsibility and opportunity.
Do not trade carbon, keep it in the ground. All economic growth can only now be achieved through the use of renewable energy sources, not the continued burning of fossil fuels.
All our power requirements are for lighting, heating, transport, and energy. Lighting can be zero rated by building BGTGs which use the heat of the earth by drilling ten kilometre deep water wells. The heating can be near-zero rated by installing Starlite coatings, which can prevent heat of all premises. Transport can be electrified. Long range transport can be doubled by having their fuels mixed permanently with water using an ultrasonic dibber.
The world should be mass producing biochar now in order to offset CO2 emissions. The biochar is a soil improver and soil can hold more CO2 than the atmosphere and oceans combined. How about it?
With Barack Obama and Gordon Brown, WE WILL get through the financial crisis, we will progress on the climate challenege, we will fight for change.
Live, Love and leave a Legacy. But make sure it is what you would want to be remembered for. Be careful what you wish for - you just might get it.! So stand up & be counted - Dont spend what you dont have - dont lend what you cant return - and dont give what you haven't got
Please consider the environment and the impact of the recession on developing nations as priorities.
Dear G20 leaders, Please listen to those at the London Put People First march (28 March), London Climate Camp (1 April) and similar events worldwide. A green economy, as outlined in the Green Party's 'Green New Deal', is the best way to address the recession's inextricably linked factors of climate change, poverty, inequality and unemployment. Rebuild your economies, basing them on justice and sustainability. Yours, Owen Everett.
It is not just Governments that have racked up huge debts - the recession should teach us all a lesson about living beyond our means.
The science is clear we are harming our planet by treating it as a finite resource. Do governments from the G20 plan to take immediate action to tackle deforestation in the tropics? Do the G20 see it as unfair that just 20 countries control 85% world trade?
Scrap tax avoidance. Don't just pressure tax havens; ensure there is no way to avoid tax. How much fiscal stimulus could we afford if everyone paid 100% of their tax?
Don't just TALK TALK TALK! We need ACTION ACTION ACTION!
What is being done to prevent the super-rich evading tax measures through loopholes?
Dear Mr Gordon Brown (and other G20 associates), I am writing to ask a question. I am concerned about the current economical crisis. I have been thinking, and my question comes in the form of a solution, since absolutely everyone (including banks, the government, and the worlds citizens) is in debt, why don't you and other governments globally, just comletely cancel the debt? Then nobody would have to owe money, and the banks wouldn't be in debt anymore! Your sincerely, Eve Catterall Age 10, Horsham UK P.S I know this is alot to ask but please consider my question :)
What prospect is there of a firm commitment to reduce global carbon emission below 1990 levels before its too late - i.e. 2025 at the latest?
the restoration of public responsibility and roles of the citizen for the good of the country
Equality is the most important thing in every part of society. At the moment, we don't have this, and the poor are paying for the greed of the rich. Until this is sorted, we don't have a hope of moving forward.
Please make sure that the global economic recovery plan is fair and sustainable. Learn from the mistakes as well as the successes of the past and encourage future innovation. We need to tackle all the world's problems in a considered and coherent way. I hope that you keep people and the environment at the heart of your thinking, and remember that economics are a means to an end. Best of luck, comrade!
Shut down tax havens and make the super-rich pay their fair share
the only way to get the third world out of its poverty is to help them idustrialize their countries. George Marshall knew it, you need to do it. And the only way to make it work is to do it on the individual countries cultural terms.
Sort out global warming. The previous US president constantly rebuffed moves to help global warming please can this be reversed.
Let's make sure we have a world we can still enjoy when the recession ends. Do you really believe current efforts, or even plans, will come anywhere near a global 60% CO2 reduction by 2050, let alone the 80%+ we most likely need?
Please highlight the importance of science in our world today. For it is through the sciences that we will secure a great and prosperous future for mankind.
All nuclear weapons states should support Obama's plans on cutting warhead numbers. Trident replacement should be put on hold.
Do you not think it's time that you stopped worrying about what the bank bosses say and what they want? Ever since Mrs. Thatcher, they've had their years of fun- now it's time to rewind the clocks. Nationalisation is utterly necessary and this is the prime time to act.
Prime Minister, President, In a new era of responsibility, the politicians in duty have to work together on a multilateral basis. This should include every major actor in the economic and financial world. As a Swiss-British student, I urge you to extend this mulitlateralism to one of the firmest guardians of international law: Switzerland. Thank you.
you have done it before and i beleive that you can turn things around once more
i think that you are doing a great job, but you should put abit more information about you on and what you do, you should explain about your policy and what your role of an MP is about. Thank you For Reading this stephanie liveley aged 14
Remember, you're creating a future for your families, my family and future generations to come. Do the right thing.
Honesty is the best policy. Trust your intuition, not your interests.
Make your children proud - eradicate child poverty and provide real equality of opportunity. Act with integrity, end shameful policies and practices. Only then can you expect respect (and votes).
Tax havens must be closed. Redistribution of the poor to the wealthy has been the result of their widespread use over the last twenty years. This is why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Equal taxation for all - not just the poor and middle class NOW.
Encourage enterprise, responsibility and creativity to get individuals, organisations and communities working together again to beat the down-turn
Don't think for a second we can afford to ignore the impact of climate change. There is only one Earth and we have only one shot at keeping it safe.
Should G20 members agree a minimum top rate of tax (at say 30%), to help end the tax competition between nation states that forces them to cut expenditure on public services and welfare schemes?
Considering free market liberalism has failed, what is wrong with protectionism?
All countries should take President Obama's lead and reduce greed. All payments, including salaries, bonus, pensions and second home allowance etc that are ultimately being funded by the public should be voluntary given back by all individuals. It should not be down to the public to insist on action before people are shamed into returning what the country can not afford. The recession should affect everyone, not just the have-nots. Ruth
What are you views on the future on nuclear power? Will you be supporting Cumbria as the energy coast and encourage potential developers to build nuclear power stations? would there be more plans for reprocessing, re-using and vitrifying fuel at sellafield? would american use sellafield for reprossing fuel and buy MOX fuel rods?
Ignore the idiots and do what you think is right. we put our trust in you when we elected you. Now go forward staying close to those values and acting in the interests of our countries and the worlds economies and climates. I have faith that you will do the right thing. Good Luck.
Instead of bailing out the banks, split the money up and give it to all consumers in the country to spend within the high streets. This will boost the economy.
Please come to challenging targets on climate change for governement and businesses. Also, increase regulation in all industries.
Get rid of our debt based Fractional reserve banking system, it is immoral, burns up the planets resources. Address Peak Oil, it is here and will make this economic crisis pale in comparision. And garantee everyone a home to raise there kids in.
People have the passion and the drive to keep this planet turning, but every now and then the people at the top have to show us which way to turn.
Get tough with what we need to do. Its almost too late for a softly softly approach to environment issues. BE BOLD.
Back in the 30's, the world tried to reach agreement on economic recovery and failed. The result was the Great Depression. You can not fail now, or millions of people will lose their jobs, their homes, and their hope.
Help the environment, so I and my future children don't die from environmental damage which my parents are doing now!
take the hard decisions that you know need to be taken - do not let us down for parochial, political reasons. You can do it!
common action
Green econmoics is the future for our world
Please do everything you can to save the women in Afghanistan. Culture is not absolute. Men are not entitled to abuse women because they think their religion says so.
Don't forget about your commitments to the poorest in our world
Please Gordon Brown and President Obama, Make sure all countries work together to beat this recession and prove to your country that you're doing something to get rid of the global financial crisis. Tell the public what you're doing instead of keeping it behind closed doors.
Build a green economy to help future generations by insulating homes across the world ,ncreasing renewables and encouraging sustainable transport.
I would like to see plans to invest in national projects which would provide job opportunities as well as economic stimulation. In particular I think plans to improve transport links (updating to the 21st century), especially rail, would provide long and short term employment as well as addressing environmental concerns. Good railways should take the pressure off roads by putting freight onto trains instead of lorries and could stimulate growth in more deprived areas, previously cut off partly as a result of poor transport networks. Where it is realtively easy to boost the national grid by renewable sources of electricity, as yet is more of a hurdle to replace the fuel we use in cars and lorries for transport. Moreover people need to see an effect of 'economic stimulus' to their own lives. National projects such as rail network improvements should affect everyone in the short term and long term. However, it is essential that the projects are given to local workers and not contracted out overseas to 'cheaper' offers.
Use the money you are pumping into your economies via public works etc to build something that will last, and be of use to future generations: housing; railways etc
Put world poverty first - and keep your promises - make a pledge and keep it.
to reform the Brits economy need to be more optimistic and more focus on the industrial development.........
We need social housing, job creation in use-value based capital projects and urgently to move the economy away from financial and legal services. We can only win political support for intervention and stop another Tory decimation of our country if citizens can touch, hear and see real government projects directly creating real jobs now in our Cities.
Make future generations be proud of our current generetion! We made change!
I think that the world leaders now in this current economic downturn, need to join together and finally disucss and do something about the serious issues affecting both the UK and the rest of the world. In previous summits topics have been discussed but not much has followed on from that. This time, something HAS to follow from this.
We need a Green New Deal to tackle the linked global issues of climate change, poverty and inequality. This is about the whole future of human life on this planet. It is still not too late, but we need meaningful action very soon not mere promises of action in the future.
Why is it that women still earn significantly less than men for doing exactly the same work in 2009 under your governments and what are you going to do about it?
I would like to ask that we do not get derailed by the current economic crisis. Let's work towards a fairer world for everyone. Inequality exacerbates all the problems we have, whether economic or environmental - and results in disadvantaged people suffering the most. Almost all of us can get by on a little less, so let's share the burden!
Put climate change at the top of the agenda.
go green
How can we eradicate the short-termism of banks around the world who have gambled their money away, relatively safe in the knowledge that their governments would bail them out, and without action will do the same again?
Wipe 3rd World Debt
Trade is more powerful than aid
Why is the west so protectionist compared to the global south? Why do we force trade on our terms?
Education is a right, not a priviledge.
rediscover the language of empathy
I hope all goes well with the meeting, and remeber that you are talking to human beings not animals.
Change is within their grasp and within our time. Obama and Brown need to be bold in driving forward the changes that will make the world a safer, fairer and ecologically friendlier place to live.
The one most important thing for recovery, is where possible people must be told their jobs are safe and to get firms to issue 3year contracts, otherwise how can we expect to spend? Also banks to loan money only on p60`s. This will help them lend securely.
I am a single UK parent with three children at home after my wife died. We cannot afford good food, our own house, or our energy bills. Stop giving money to the banks and help families with housing and food and a clean planet !
Crack down on the tax dodging that costs poor countries 0 billion per year. Do this through a new global tax treaty that includes automatic exchange of information and which all countries can sign up to on an equal basis. Then presssure tax havens into signing up soon!
Please stop multinational companies from avoiding tax in the developing countries where they operate. Make mulitnationals publish details of the profits they make in every country in which they have a base.

Gordon - I live in Oxford where people are losing their jobs, not least at the BMW plant. Please remember that your actions need to help people struggling on a low income first and foremost. You could start by raising tax credits and benefits to hit the 2010 target on child poverty and raising JSA above the pitiful £60 per week at the budget following the G20.
Don't forget the world's poor in your negotiations. Specifically you could introduce tax reforms which made sure developing contries got their fare share of tax revenue from multinationals operating within their borders. This money could then be used by them to fund desperately needed services like health and education. You can do it!
