We are a trading nation – and trade abroad means more jobs at home.  3 million British jobs are linked to our trade with Europe. That’s why in Europe we've been calling for active cooperation with our European partners to help tackle difficult global economic conditions. But the Tories prefer isolation in Europe, even at the cost of jobs at home.

David Cameron is happy to put party before country by retreating from Europe. The Conservatives’ isolationist policy of quitting the mainstream centre-right European People’s Party and dragging Britain to the fringes of Europe would damage Britain’s international standing and jeopardise the mainstream alliances we need to secure action in the best interests of British people.
