Today was the launch of the Labour Party East Midlands manifesto in Leicester. Ed Balls was met by Keith Vaz, MP and now candidate for Leicester East and Glenis Willmott MEP.
Ed introduced the manifesto and talked about the importance of securing the economic recovery in the region.
He met with candidates from the region including Liz KendallĀ the Labour Candidate for Leicester West. Liz has blogged about the day here and you can listen to her here.
I travelled with Ed to do a quick interview with the fantastic community radio station 'Heritage FM'.
Then it was on to the newly built Stephenson College. Ed met a group of about 50 young first time voters and students. Ed answered a tough series of questions on everything from EMAs, apprenticeships, tuition fees, Afghanistan and pension credits.
Many of the students were still thinking about how to vote but they were all convinced about the need to protect investment in education. Listen to Ed describe his day and meeting with the students.
