Douglas Alexander MP, Labour's Shadow Foreign Secretary, commenting on events in Syria today, said:
“This is a desperately dangerous time in Damascus, but alas the international community remains dangerously divided.
"This latest suicide attack must be condemned as its risks even greater escalation of this already brutal conflict.
"In the face of this ongoing violence, it is vital that in the critical hours ahead the international community come together at the Security Council to agree the steps necessary to bring the bloodshed and slaughter to an end."
