Introduction
The Crime, Justice, Citizenship and Equalities policy commission is concerned with the development of Labour policy and thinking in relation to a number of vital areas.
These include tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, building safer and stronger communities, renewing the criminal justice system, policing, counter-terrorism, immigration and asylum, equalities, civil society, constitutional reform and increasing political participation.
The policy commission has two main roles. As part of the policy development process, the commission engages with local Labour parties, Labour’s affiliates and local communities in producing consultation and policy documents. The other main role is to discuss current issues and submissions from the public, and to give feed back to party members and affiliates. For more information about the role of the Policy Commission, look at our pages on the Partnership in Power institutions – here.
