Tamsin Dunwoody, Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Crewe and Nantwich and actress Liz Dawn - aka Vera Duckworth – have visited a special garden party at Coronation Street in Crewe.

The party took place at the house of life-long Coronation Street fan
Ann Dennis, aged 48, where she lives with husband Alan and
five-year-old grandson Tyler.

Liz Dawn said: “It’s been great to come to Crewe’s Coronation Street,
everybody has been really kind and actually I think this is a bit
posher than the one I’m used to.
“I’ve also had the chance to look around Crewe today and spent time
meeting people in the shopping centre and judging from the reaction
I’ve no doubt they’ll vote for Tamsin.
“My character, Vera, was a straight talker and so is Tamsin, just like
her mother before her. I think she would be a brilliant MP - I mean who
would want the Tories eh? I certainly don’t.”
Tamsin Dunwoody added: “The garden party has been great because people
have come from all over the neighbourhood and it’s was lovely to spend
time in Coronation Street with our Vera.
“Lots of Cabinet ministers have come to Crewe and worked so hard for me
but I have to say Liz has certainly been one of the biggest draws so
far.
“People around here really loved Vera in Coronation Street, she was a
no-nonsense character and it’s great that Liz could come and spend some
time with me today."
