Shadow Secretary of State Vernon Coaker MP condemns attempted pipe bomb attack16 April 2012
Commenting on the news that a pipe bomb has been left under a car belonging to the family of a police officer in Londonderry, the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Vernon Coaker MP, said:
"I utterly condemn this attempted murder.
"To target a police officer in this way, through his family, is particularly reprehensible.
"Those responsible for this appalling act do not have the support of the people of Derry. By trying to kill those who serve the community and the city, they are in fact attacking the community and the city as a whole.
"I send my full support to the police officer, his family and his colleagues in the PSNI."
