Clive Efford MP, Labour's Shadow Minister for Sport, commenting on the publication of the DCMS select committee report on 'Racism in Football', said:
"As the select committee report underlines, we can never be complacent when it comes to any form of discrimination whether it is racism, religious hatred or homophobia. Football has made considerable progress on these issues through the leadership it has shown and we now must all work together to increase diversity amongst managers, coaches, referees and at the top levels of football.
"The FA and others have worked tirelessly to tackle prejudice and have shown what progress can be made. But as the report recommends, we should demand that FIFA and UEFA show stronger leadership on tackling racism in football across the world."
