Caroline Flint, Labour's Shadow Energy and Climate Change Secretary, responding to the outcome of the Durban Climate Change Conference, said:
“The only way we will tackle climate change is by getting all countries signed up to a legally binding framework to cut their carbon emissions.
"Progress has been made at Durban, which is to be welcomed. But it has also shown the scale of the challenge we face, and the need for a strong European voice, where David Cameron has left us completely isolated. To prevent dangerous climate change, it is vital that a new global treaty is in place by 2015 and in force by 2020."
