Harriet Harman MP, Labour’s Deputy Leader, responding to Nick Clegg’s speech today, said:
"Nick Clegg can talk about his differences with the Tories as much as he likes - the issue is what he does. Whatever arguments he makes inside government, the truth is that he has voted for the £3 billion tax cut to millionaires while failing to deliver the mansion tax he says he supports. He voted for the Tories’ introduction of the very VAT cut he campaigned against. And the Government’s cuts to tax credits which he voted for are hitting millions of working families.
"Nick Clegg's actions in backing a Tory-led Government tell a truth his speeches try to hide."
