Michael Dugher MP, Labour’s Vice-Chair, commenting on the appointment of Christopher Lockwood to the Number 10 Policy Unit, said:
"So with people being made unemployed across the country, David Cameron has at least created one job - unfortunately it is a job in Number 10 for another old chum.
"Appointments like this show why the public - and even many Tory MPs - think that Cameron is out of touch. The Prime Minister doesn't get it because he surrounds himself with people just like him.
"With prices rising faster than wages and almost a million young people unemployed, families are paying more while millionaires get a tax cut. Instead of more jobs for the boys, David Cameron should be dealing with the cost of living crisis facing ordinary families, and the failure of his economic plan."
