Campaigning with Brian May

bm1You could say "Don't stop me now. I'm having such a good time" because we have been out campaigning for David Drew in Stroud with Queen legend Brian May. We're here because David and Brian are both passionate defenders of the hunting ban. We all agree that setting animals on each other in the name of sport shouldn't be part of a civilised society - unlike David Cameron who wants to bring hunting back to our countryside.

We did a street stall in the centre of Stroud and lots of people came up to talk to Brian May, to wish David good luck, and to look at three fox cubs and Bill the Badger. David clearly has a lot of support and he has been outspoken in backing the ban.

Then it was on to the Town Hall for a rally. David introduced Brian May who spoke with passion and feeling about why he has set up the Save Me website and why he is horrified by the thought of hunting returning with a Conservative Government. He then said that to stop this happening people in Stroud should vote for David. If you want to add your voice just visit Back The Ban.

A great morning's campaigning on an issue that the Tories simply don't want to debate.

And then to round it all off I met an old schoolfriend who I hadn't seen for over 40 years. Quite a day!

Its been a kind of magic to be with Brian on the campaign trail. He's a passionate man, committed to the welfare of animals and I'm delighted to have joined him on the road.
