Ed Miliband MP, Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Labour Party, today challenged David Cameron on inaccurate claims the Prime Minister has made at PMQs.
The Prime Minister made five inaccurate claims on: the work programme; the Future Jobs Fund; interest rates; the bank levy; and Labour's proposal of a tax on bankers' bonuses.
Ed Miliband says in his letter:
"I note that some of your confusion seems to be based on conflating the bank bonus tax and the bank levy. We of course support the bank levy. But the existence of the levy is no reason not to continue with the bonus tax this year. Further details of our proposals on the bank bonus tax are publicly available should you wish to reconsider the tax cut being given to the banks this year.
"The British people will want to be assured that the decisions you take, which have such profound consequences for families and young people, are being based on properly researched data and empirical evidence.
"I am sure you will want to correct the record at the earliest opportunity."
