Liam Byrne MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, responding to reports that Poundland have become the latest business to pull out of the Government’s work experience programme, said:
“Britain is facing its worst unemployment emergency in over 16 years but this Government is failing to act and their back to work schemes are now in total chaos.
“Work experience can be valuable, but this scheme has now lost the confidence of business, and with more firms seemingly pulling out by the day it’s time to go back to the drawing board.”
