ASDA Mumdex survey shows the extent of the squeeze facing British families - Mary Creagh

21 February 2012

Mary CreaghMary Creagh MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Secretary, responding to the findings of the first ASDA Mumdex report out today, said:

“The ASDA Mumdex survey shows the extent of the squeeze facing British families with one in four mums putting something back at the checkout as they struggle with higher food prices and falling wages.

"Three quarters of ASDA mums have seen their household bills go up over the last year. The Government should follow Labour's advice and reverse its damaging VAT rise for a year - which could save hard pressed families around £450."
