Ed Miliband is the Labour MP for Doncaster North and Minister for the Cabinet Office and Social Exclusion as well as holding the position of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Before taking a ministerial post in the Cabinet, Ed was Minister for the Third Sector and Parliamentary Secretary to the Cabinet Office. In 2005-06 Ed was Chair of the All Party Group on Young People.
Prior to being elected to Parliament in May 2005, he was a special advisor to the Treasury and was Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors.
Ed was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford where he read philosophy, politics and economics, and at the London Schools of Economics.
In 2003, he was a visiting lecturer at the department of government at Harvard University and visiting scholar at the Centre for European Studies.
